Dead Body Found on Highway 152 Near Los Banos

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — A homicide investigation is underway after authorities found a dead man in the trunk of a vehicle along State Route 152.

The California Highway Patrol received a report of a missing person believed to be on SR-152 east of Lower Cottonwood Road on Thursday around 12:15 p.m.

Officers from the CHP Los Banos Area and deputies from the Merced County Sheriff’s Office responded and found an unidentified Hispanic male deceased in the trunk of a white Tesla sedan.

CHP Central Division Major Crimes Unit detectives are leading the investigation.
