Felon Arrested After Police Allegedly Find Him With Loaded Gun in Los Banos

A Santa Nella man was arrested on multiple felony weapons charges after Los Banos Police officers reportedly found a loaded concealed handgun during a patrol near the Rail Trail earlier this month.

According to the Los Banos Police Department, members of the Gang Unit were patrolling the 1100 block of the Rail Trail at approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 9 when they contacted 23-year-old Hector Martinez Jr. of Santa Nella.

Police said officers determined Martinez was on searchable probation. During a probation search, officers allegedly found him in possession of a loaded, concealed pistol.

Investigators said Martinez is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under California law.

Martinez was arrested on multiple felony weapons violations and booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail. Police said his bail was set at $250,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.
